Xiluodu Hydropower Station, located on the Jinsha River at the junction of Sichuan and Yunnan provinces, is a key project of the national "West-to-East Power Transmission" and the largest hydropower station on the Jinsha River. The project is mainly for power generation, with comprehensive benefits such as flood control, sediment retention and improvement of upstream shipping conditions, and can provide cascade compensation for downstream power stations.
